RFID Integrators

When selecting RFID Integrators chose ones that work with numerous suppliers and have the experience to select the best technology for the applications. Remember that when all they offer is a hammer, then all the problems look like nails to them.

According to article by Bob Scher, CEO, Dynasys, RFID Integrators Needed 24% Annual Growth Rate. RFID Integrators expect explosive growth in the RFID marketplace. Although RFID technology has existed over the past 10 years there have been fundamental marketing principles holding back its growth. These obstacles are now being overcome and clearing the path for explosive growth in the RFID marketplace.

In any emerging technology a sequence of milestones must take place before the consumer will readily adapt it.

Industry Standards: As in any new technology, the leading pioneers will release unique products, incompatible with their competitors and be very protective of their proprietary properties. Industry standards must prevail before any open system interoperability can be expected between components and peripheral devices.

Recently, the International Standards Organization has officially defined the way data is exchanged between the RFID tag and its reader. ISO 15693-2 has been proposed and accepted by the two industry leaders, Texas Instruments and Philips Semiconductor. This new standard will clear the path for other companies to created value-added components to integrate into an open RFID system.

Strategic Partnerships: In order to make system integration using RFID devices successful, a number of key partners must provide compatible products. RFID inlays made by Texas Instruments must be incorporated into smart labels and wristbands.

Labels: Converting companies such as Brady, Precision Dynamics, Avery, Moore and X-ident are currently offering high quality RFID labels.

Printers: Companies such as Datamax, Brady, Tec, Sato and Zebra are currently offering RFID compatible printers which can read and encode the smart chip while simultaneously printing barcodes and text on the label or ticket.

Hand-Held Data Collectors: Companies such as ID Systems, Opticon, Psion and Minec provide hand-held computers which read/write to RFID devices while also scanning barcodes, swiping magnetic cards and taking keyboard data entry.

Antennas: Companies such as Texas Instruments, Dynasys, FEIG, Snyder and Impro are but a few of the companies producing RFID antennas for low frequency 134 kHz and high frequency 13.56 MHz bands.
