RF Code, Software RFID

RF Code of Mesa, Ariz., has been selling active (battery-powered) RFID tags and software systems to track objects carrying those tags since 1997. With the market for passive RF Code, Software, RFID tags taking off, the company is opening up its software infrastructure to passive RFID technology from other hardware vendors. RF Code, Software, RFID will sell its TAVIS software platform separately from its own hardware for the first time.

"This is a stake in the ground showing that we are aggressively going after software licensing in deployments that encompass not just the active RFID but passive technology as well," says Armando Viteri, RF Code's president.

Underlining that goal, the company announced a partnership with passive RFID hardware developer www.samsys.com SAMSys Technologies. RF Code, Software, RFID will integrate passive RFID technologies from SAMSys with its own RFID platform. RF Code says it could add support for other hardware vendors, such as Alien Technology, Intermec and Matrics.

While RF Code, Software, RFID has modified TAVIS to support equipment from these vendors, the company says it will not develop software to support all rival systems. Instead, it will publish the details of its software drivers so that any company can design software to make the connections possible. Viteri says that having the ability to connect any RFID readers to the TAVIS platform will make the software particularly attractive to RF Code’s traditional resellers, as well as to system integrators that want to deploy RFID systems quickly.

There are many RFID Software are available in the market differing in their cost, coverage and complexities. RSI ID Technologies Flexolution RFID Software is a web based application that can run in the internet or an intranet that helps to provide better control of on-hand inventory, improve traceability, and reduces product shrinkage. The RFID Software works with RFID tags, readers, shelves, and a variety of external equipment such as an integrated camera.

How RSI ID Technologies Flexolution RFID Software Works: Each item is tagged with a label with an integrated RFID transponder. Each RFID transponder is pre-programmed with static information. The static information is associated with an item, and is entered into the Flexolution® RFID Software system, which assigns a location and monitors the incoming data from the RFID readers. Once the product is placed at the designated location, the RFID reader/ writer continually queries and reads each tag to verify that the RFID labeled item is still present at the assigned location. When an item is removed from the shelf, the system can trigger any type of external equipment, for example a camera to take a photo of the person removing the item from its assigned location, or it can trigger the locking of a door. This information is then stored in the item transaction log in the software.

A robust RFID Software Application Programming Interface (API) package allows easy application development and integration into existing systems.

GiitTag RFID Software (for PocketPC): RFID technology is extremely powerful when leveraged as part of an asset management solution. RFID technology offers the significant advantage of durability, flexibility and application-based tags which can be long life or throw away, taking the concept of asset management to a whole new level. GiitTag RFID Software will enable you to manage your assets more efficiently and with reduced information error and data loss.
